Humble Hilo Silks
Discover the ancient art of silk weaving born and perfected in remote villages of Thai Binh, Vietnam for over 400 years. Our scarves use all-natural organic silk, handwoven on traditional looms and hand dyed using marbling and Shibori techniques passed down from mothers to daughters for generations.
Our factory partner serves as a vital support system by employing older female laborers (mostly over 50 years old) who were dismissed from other employment. This not only provides them with meaningful employment but also contributes to the preservation of traditional weaving techniques.
The beautiful designs are a result of invested years in studying dyeing techniques from various local traditions. We are proud of the positive social impact and cultural preservation from the factory's commitment to sustainable and inclusive craftsmanship.
Handmade and handcrafted individually, all designs vary slightly, as each one is dyed uniquely by hand ensuring your order is truly one-of-a-kind. Rest assured, it does not take away from them being well made products and the imperfections simply add to their artisan character.
The hand-dyed patterns bloom with exquisite colors and artistic designs. Whether you're an art lover or a silk fan, this scarf will delight anyone who appreciates unique, handmade items. It is a thoughtful and meaningful gift that will surely be treasured.
